In one month, a farmer produces 300 pounds of corn. In the following month he produces 35% more. How many pounds of corn does he produce in the second month?

So, this is a problem from percentage and ratios,

%increase = (Increase in value) ×100 / (Base value)

Now,

% increase = 35

Base value = 300

Let increase in value be x

So,

35 = x ×100/ (300)

x=(35× 300) /100

x= 105

So,

Total pound of corn produced in the following month = 300 +105

=405

So,

405 pounds of corn was produced
