In order to tidy the room, Jo goes to Laurie's house. She goes to meet up Laurie who is sick and therefore cannot leave the house. When Jo hears about this she tries to cheer him up by keeping him company. She brings over her mothers blancmange and the kittens which she lends to Laurie. This all cheers him up. She tidied his room as well. They sit and talk for a while when Laurie confesses how he watches Jo and her lifestyle because he envies it.
