Some CO, is created naturally but some comes from fumes of cars, aeroplanes and the generation of electricity. As CO, collects in the atmosphere it acts like a blanket over the Earth; heat cannot escape so the Earth heats up . Excess heat is absorbed by the ocean and distributed. This helps regulate the temperature.The extra heat causes the water temperature to rise. The warmer waters melt ice in the Polar regions, raising sea levels. ​
