in a parallelogram opposite sides are parallel and equal.

So Line AB parallel and equal to line CD.same with the line AD and line BC.

line ED is equal to line FC.
as in parallelogram ABCD,
Line AD =Line BC
=line AD/2=line BC/2
=line ED =line FC.
also line AD &BC are a part of parallel lines. So line ED & FC are also a part of that parallel lines.

then also line EF is parallel and equal to line CD
as in parallelogram ABCD,
Line EF is the distance between line AD & BC.
line AB is also the distance between line AD & BC.
also if u extend the lines AD & BC ,AB is drawn from the points of these lines.
also line EF is also drawn from the same points but some distance down.therefore they have same properties i.e.
if AB is parallel to line CD then line EF is also parallel to line CD.
therefore it is proven that opposites sides of quadrilateral EFCD are parallel and equal.
hence it quadrilateral EFCD is a parallelogram.
