The equipment that is used in the pathology laboratories to separate the insoluble solids or cells from the liquid portion of the blood is known as a centrifuge machine.

The blood in taken on a test tube and is placed on the centrifuge machine which then rotates at a very high speed separating the solid portions of the blood sending them to bottom of the test tube.
