  Let the cost price of the article be x

  Now according to question we get

  42 x / 100 – 18 x/100 = 110.4

  24 x = 1104

   x = 1104 / 24

   x = 460

   Now selling price of article at 25% profit will be 460 x 125 / 100 = 575
