In poem ‘TRAINS’ by Humayun Kabir :

Why does the poet call the train ‘tedious’?

In the middle of a night, what does the train remind the poet of and why?

The poem ends with a question. Why do you think this question troubles or puzzles the poet?

  1. The poet calls the goods trains as tedious because they have no windows.doors and light in them....They looks like a shadow moving like an elephant. This is the reason for calling trains tedious.
  2. In the middle of the night, the poet is reminded of the trains that move like crawling snakes because they are long and they move like so dark.
  3. This question really troubles the poet as the poet is confused as well as concerned about trains that where do they end they are endless journeying...The poet is an innocent child and the poet compares the trains with humans which makes the poet think like that......The poet is not aware that trains run with the help of engines.
