Prospero wants the conspirators to repent. Antonio had tried killing Prospero and his daughter Miranda. Ariel is the spirit saved by Prospero. Prospero had ordered Ariel to create a storm and that the whole party should land in the island where they were living. He wanted to do this to rip the false face of Antonio. Ariel would listen to him because he had been promised by Prospero his freedom.

Prospero want to lead them to repentance . Actually Antonio attempt the attack in order to kill him as well as the his daughter. Prospero saved the Aerial , a spirit who can destroy things , So the prospero ask the aerial to make the storm So that everyone reach on the land where they was actually living. His purpose was just to frighten them for lead them repent and he also want show reality of the Antonio.
