in question 27, the ans is 1 but why not 4th i think the reactivity of h will be more toward that alkene which is less stable and the less stable alken have lest alpha hydrogen so according to me the ans should be 4th but why is the ans 1?

The answer is 1st because it is simplest form of an unsaturated compound. It readily combines with hydrogen to form saturated compound ethane.

Hope it helps..

ayshainamdar27: oh ok so if suppose in place of alkene butene of pentene was given so the ans will be pentene in that case right?
ayshainamdar27: butene or* pentene
anandthegreat: yes

Unsaturated hydrocarbons add hydrogen in the presence of catalyst such as Palladium or Nickel to give saturated hydrocarbons is called addition reaction.

Therefore the alkene which is most reactive towards catalytic hydrogenation is option 1.
