In quiz programme the correct gets you 2 marks. For each wrong answer, one mark is detected from the total score. There are 50 questions to be answered. If kitu scored 76 marks for the quiz, how many questions were right?

let us suppose number of right answer = x
number of wrong answer = y
A/q,
x +y = 50
and , 2x - y = 76
adding both equations, we get,
x +y + 2x - y = 50 +76
⇒3x = 126
⇒x =126/3 =42
then , y = 50 - 42 =8
so, number of correct answer is 42 and number of wrong answers is 8
number of wrong answer = y
