If hypotenuse PR = 12 & PQ = 6 of right angled triangle PQR, then the measure of angle P is 60°

Step-by-step explanation:

Referring to the figure attached below, we have,

PQR is a right-angled triangle at angle Q

Hypotenuse, PR = 12

Side PQ = 6

Since we have to calculate the value of angle P, so as per the figure side QR will be the perpendicular and side PQ will be the base .

Therefore, applying the trigonometric ratios of a triangle to the right-angled ∆ABC, we get

cos θ = base /hypotenuse

⇒ cos P =  \frac{PQ}{PR} ......... [here θ = ∠P]

⇒ cos P = \frac{6}{12}

⇒ cos P = ½

⇒ P = cos⁻¹(½)

P = 60°

Thus, the measure of ∠P is 60°.

Answer:

p = 60°

Step-by-step explanation:

PR = 12

PQ = 6

So ,

cos p  = \frac{PQ}{PR}

cos p = \frac{6}{12}

p = cos^{-1} (0.5)

p = 60°
