In some cultures, students are expected to speak only when spoken to by the teacher and to interact only with the teacher. Do you think this is good practice?

Explanation:
Interacting only with the teacher does not sound good. Since, school is a place where children go, not only to educate themselves but to learn social ethics and social behaviors.
Children are supposed to interact with other children and express what they feel and participate in every task. If they are resisted to interact with the teachers only and speak when they are asked to, it will restrict their learning.
