THIS IS SO BECAUSE IN DESERTS THE AMOUNT OF SUNLIGHT IS MORE AND THUS TRANSPIRATION IS MORE.SO,NOT TO LOSE WATER THROUGH TRANSPIRATION THEY HAVE  A THICK COATING OF WAX ON THEM
