Strain gauges are used to measure the strain of a material. When load is acted on a material, elongation or compression is happened. But the loads can be different types and deflection can be occurred along axial or transverse axis. So, only normal load is applied to create strain in the material along horizontal axis. To implement the project, a sensor is needed that can sense the material deflection. In this case, aluminium foil strain sensor is used. The sensed resistance change has been shown in the LCD display through the wheatstone bridge and amplifier circuit. It has been discussed elaborately. Data was taken after implementation of the project. Load vs strain and bending deflection vs strain graph has been drawn and discussed.
