It is usually said that a poet can look into the depth of things and understand them in a way that the one can never understand. It is not just a sad cry but it can also be a happy cry or an excited cry.

For example : When we look at some crop grown by a farmer, we just usually think about what type of crop it is but a poet would think about the struggles the farmer might have faced during the growing of the crop like the weather, financial support etc. So here the poet may cry because of the farmer's struggle which is a sad one or cry thinking about the success of the farmer even after the struggle which is a happy one.

HOPE YOU UNDERSTOOD IT.
