The tires lose air pressure in the winter because it contracts. If you have 35 lbs in the summer, with 85 degrees, when it gets cold, down to -10, your air pressure can get down to about 25 lbs. So before it gets bitter cold, inflate your tires up a little. You don’t want to be putting air in your tires once it is freezing out. Sometimes the schrader valve doesn’t seat properly because of frost and the rubber seal is hard. I have had several tires go flat on me because of this.
