In the above experiment the wire moves through the ice slab. however the ice slab does not break. why? plz answer friends

It is due to regelation.
The pressure is applied on that part of the ice then it melts and the wire moves down but when the pressure is removed the water gets converted back to ice. in this way the wire continues to move downwards due to change in pressures and finally separates from the slab.
