Answer:

First we have to find AD

to find AD we use Pythagores theorem

so,, AB²= BD²+AD²

13²= 5²+AD²

169 = 25 +AD²

169-25 =AD²

144 =AD²

12² = AD²

so AD is 12cm...

Now Again by pythagores theorem we find the value of x

so ,, AC²=DC²+AD²

15²= X² + 12²

225 = X² +144

225-144=x²

81 = x²

9²=x²

so value of x is 9cm

thnks

hope it helps

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

in triangle ABD

AB=13CM=h

BD=5CM=b

AD=?=p

using pythagoras theorom,

h²=p²+b²

13²=p²+5²

169-25=p²

√144=p

so,p=AD=12 cm

now,in triangle ADC,

AC=15CM=h

DC=x=b

AD=12=p

using P.T,

AC²=AD²+DC²

15²=12²+b²

225-144=b²

81=b

so ,b=9cm

hence ,

x=9 cm
