so, tension is equal to force , as we know the relation
T-mg=ma
3/2mg-mg=ma

the tension in the string = t
t or f = 3/2mg (given)
using, T - mg = ma
we get,
3/2 mg - mg = ma
1/2 mg = ma (m cancelled out)
therefore, a = g/2.
