In the attachment it is simply a solved equation but if you would add a step in this equation then it would be easier to understand that how v becomes equal to u.

So lets solve it,

↦ 0 = m(v - u).

[This is our equation].

↦ 0/m = v - u.

↦ 0 = v - u.

[As when any number is divided by 0 the answer must be equal to 0].

↦ 0 + u = v.

[Transporting u towards LHS].

↦ u = v.

v = u.

Therefore we can say that that "from the above equation we get, v = u".

Answer:I will directly start from 0 = mv -mu

0 = mv - mu

Subtracting both side by mv,we get

mv = mu

Dividing both sides by m, we get:

mv/m = mu/m

Both the m in numerator and the denominater of both LHS and RHS will get cancelled, therefore:

v = u
