Answer:
The Beggar written by the famous writer Anton Chekhov. In the story, Skvortsov refuse to give any money to Lushkov and gave him a job.
The reason to give him a job is that Lushkov was an alcoholic, and he had wasted all his money on buying the alcohol. In order to survive, he had to beg. He started lying about some misfortune happened to him in order to grab some money from the stranger. But Skvortsov was the lawyer who understood the plan of grabbing the money and refused to give any.

Answer: Skvortsov is the Petersburg lawyer and one of the main characters in Anton Chekov's short story "The Beggar". "The Beggar" teaches the reader about a moral that no one should lie to gain sympathy in order to earn something. ... He protests and gets angry when the beggar lies shamelessly to trick him.
