we can see two triangles in diagram. one
is in smaller cone and other in larger cone.
they are similar triangles.
so h1/r1 = h2/r2
12/6 = 4/r2
r2 = 2.
radius of smaller cone is 2cm.
total surface area of remaining solid
= T.S.A of (larger cone - smaller cone)
= (Π(r1)*l1 +Π(r2)^2 )- (Π(r2)*l2 +Π(r2)^2
l1 = √(12^2 + 6^2) = √ 180
l2 = √(4^2 + 2^2 ) = √10
by substituting r1,r2,l1,l2 values we get the
remaining TSA of the cone
