in the circuit shown in figure the power developed in 6 ohm resistor is 24 what the power developed in 2 ohm resistor will be

   The 6 and 12 ohm resistors are connected is parallel connection so we can directly write,

1/R3=1/r1+1/r2

    =1/6+1/12 (LCM=12)

    =2+1/12

    =3/12

1/R=1/4

R=4 ohm.

The 4 and 2 ohm resistors are connected is parallel connection so we can directly write,

p=v²/r

 ⇒  p1/p2=r3/r4

 ⇒  24/p2=4/2

 ⇒  24/p2=2/1

 ⇒  By cross-multiplication,

2p2=24

p2=12 watt is the answer.
