in the compound carbon dioxide elements carbon and oxygen are combined in the fixed ratio of 1 is to 2 where there are one atom of carbon and two atoms of oxygen so we can easily say that carbon dioxide is a compound and the elements of this compound are in fixed ratio

Not only in CO2, even in ammonia (NH3), the ratios are same. Every two or more elements will join at same ratio.
