In the data set, what is the variance? 6 8 1 9 4

variance = £x2/n -[£x/n]2

£ denotes summation of

x=6 8 1 9 4

x2=36 64 1 81 16

£x= 6+8+1+9+4= 28

£x2=36+64+1+81+16=198

Variance = (198/5 - [28/5]2)

= (198/5 - [784/25])

= (990/25 -784/25)

=990-784/25

=186/25
