in the elctrolysis process of water, the volume of gas collected at cathode is double than the volume of gas collected at anode, why??

In electrolysis of water , the volumeof gas collected at cathode is double than the volume of gas collected at anode because the Ratio of volume of Hydrogen gas and Oxygen gas is of 2:1 ..
