In the electrolysis of water

(a) Name the gases liberated at anode and cathode.

(b) Why is it that the volume of gas collected on one electrode is twotimes that on the other electrode ?

b.this is so because water has 2 molecules of hydrogen and 1 molecule of oxygen and also it is formed in ratio 2:1
