In the experiment "Light is essential for photosysthesis" why do the uncovered part of the leaves turn blue black after putting iodine solution?

Because the plant was kept in the sunlight.and the leaf which was covered with black sheet was kept in sunlight and it was kept 4-5 hours

Because starch is produced in the uncovered area of leaf which turns blue black in the presence of iodine solution.
