in the figure 11.14 hp is equal to 5 cm QR is equal 9 CM the area of the largest triangle is 50 cm what is the area of shaded region

  1. Area of the shaded region will be area of the large triangle - area of the small triangle.
  2. Area of the large triangle PQR= 50 cm sq.
  3. In small triangle SQR :- triangle STR = × triangle SQT.
  4. Area of triangle STR = 1/2 × 4.5 ×5
  5. area \: of \: right \: angled \: triangle =  \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h
  6. Area of triangle STR = 45/4 cm sq.
  7. Area of triangle SQR =45/4 ×2 = 45/2 cm
  8. Area of shaded region = area of large triangle - area of small triangle.
  9. Area of shaded region = 50 - 45/2
  • 55/2 = 27.5 cm sq.
  • Answer = 27.5 cm sq. unit
