In the figure, a transversal cuts 2 lines l and l2.If Angle 1= 70 and Angle 7= 80 is l parallel to l2

I if angle 1 is 70 then angle 7 also should be 70 as Alternate exterior angles are equal

Answer:

As per the diagram,

line m is intersected by line n.

Given, ∠1=70

o

∠7=80

o

Vertically opposite angles are equal.

∠1=∠3

=>∠1=∠3=70

o

As per the diagram,

line l is intersected by line n.

Vertically opposite angles are equal.

∠5=∠7

=>∠5=∠7=80

o

Let m∣∣l is intersected by a transversal n.

Then the pair of corresponding angles should be equal.

i.e., ∠1=∠5

=>∠3=∠7

but ∠1=70 and ∠5=80

o

Therefore our assumption that m∣∣l is intersected by a transversal n is wrong.

So l not parallel m.
