In the figure Ab // Dc and Da perpendicular to AB further DC =7cm CB=10cm and AB=13cm find the area of quadrilateral abcd.

Area of a rectangle dcbe

Area=length * breadth

Area=10*7

Area= 70 square cm



Area of triangle would be,

Area of triangle aed,

Area=1/2*b*h

aed is a right triangle,

de^2=da^2+ae^2

de=10cm,

ae=6cm,

da=?

10^2=da^2+6^2

100-36=da^2

da=root(64)

da=8cm

Area of a triangle "aed",

Area=1/2*6*8

Area=24 square cm


Area of quadrilateral abcd,

Area=Area of rectangle/parallelogram and triangle

Area=70+24

Area=94 square cm
