in triangle ABC, angle C is 90 degree (diameter makes 90 degree with the circle)
 \: so \: by \: pyhthagoras \: theorem \\  {ac}^{2}  +  {cb}^{2}  =  {ab}^{2}  \\  {6}^{2}   +  {8}^{2}  = 36 + 64 = 100 \\  {ab}^{2}  = 100 \\ ab = 10 \\
radius is half of diameter so radius is 5cm
area of shaded region is area of circle-area of triangle
area = \pi {r}^{2}  -  \frac{1}{2} bh \\  = 3.14 \times  {5}^{2}  -  \frac{1}{2} \times 6 \times 8 \\  = 78.5 - 24 \\  = 54.5

therefore your answer is 54.5 sq. cm
