ABCD is a rectangle.

Properties of rectangle needed to apply here:

  • Opposite side of rectangle are equal and parallel to each other.

Properties of triangle needed to apply here:

  • Triangles having same bases and are between same parallel have equal area.

So we can say that triangle DCE and DCF have equal areas as they are between same parallel DC and AB and have 1 common base i.e. DC.

Also, triangle ECF and EDF have same base EF and are between same parallel DC and EF. So, their areas are also equal
