Answer:

diameter = I4cm

r = 7cm

(picture not available)

area of shaded portion-assumed )

= a^2-πr 2/2

= 14^2-22/7 x 7^2/2=196-77

=119 cm2

Area of shaded region is 119 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

ABCD is a square  and APB is a semi circle

the diameter of a semi circle is 14 cm

i.e the side of a square = 14 m

we have to find the area of the shaded portion

area of square = (side)²

side= 14 cm

area of square = (14) ² = 196 cm²

area of semicircle = \frac{1}{2} \pi  r^2

radius = \frac{diameter}{2} = \frac{14}{2}

radius = 7 cm

area of semicircle = \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{22}{7} \times (7)^2

area of semicircle = 77 cm²

area of shaded region = area of square- area of semi circle

area of shaded region = 196- 77 = 119 cm²

hence,

Area of shaded region is 119 cm²
