Given

Area of triangle ABQ = 8cm2

BP : PQ = 1 : 2

a) Area of triangle ABP

=1 / 2 area of triangle ABQ

=1 / 2 * 8

b) Area of triangle ABC

Area of (triangle ABP + Triangle APQ + Triangle AQC)

=4 + 8 + 4

= 16

16cm2.
