In the figure, DE parallel to GF, GD perpendicular to DE,DE=50cm, GF=30cm, EF=25cm.
Find the area of DEFG.

base of the triangle= 50-30=20cm

Using Pythagoras theorem find height of triangle

Hypotenuse = FE=25

Height =15

Area of rectangle =20x15=300 sq.cm.

Area of triangle =1/2 x20x15=150 sq.cm.

Area of DEFG=300+150=450 sq cm.
