Given:

ABCD is a square of side 50 m.

P,Q,R,S are mid points of side AB, BC, CD and AD respectively.

To Find:

Area of the shaded region

Solution:

ABCD is a square of side 50 m

area of a square = a×a

area of square = 50×50 = 2500 m^{2}

Area of shaded region = area of square - area of 4 quadrants of radius 25 m

area of 4 quadrants = area of circle

Area of shaded region = area of square - area of circle of radius 25 m

Area of shaded region = (50)(50) - \pi R^{2}

R= 25 m

area of shaded region = (50)(50)- \pi (25)(25)

                                     (25)(25){4-\pi }\\= 537.5 m^{2}

Area of shaded region = 537.5 m^{2}
