Given,

PS = 3, SQ = 6, QR = 5, PT = x and TR = y.

Consider the attached figure while going through the following steps.

ST || QR  (given)

⇒ Δ PST ~ Δ PQR

⇒ PT / PR = PS / PQ

⇒ x / x+y = 3/9

⇒ x / x+y = 1/3

⇒ 3x = x + y

2x = y

Let,

x = 2 then y = 2x = 2 × 2 = 4

x = 5 then y = 2x = 2 × 5 = 10

The two pairs of  values of x and y such that line ST || side QR are (2, 4) and (5, 10)
