QPR is a right angled triangle.

Angle QPR =90°

Seg PM is the altitude of Seg QR.

QM=8

PM=10

To find:

Seg MR=?

Solution:

In given figure,

By geometric mean theorem ,

PM^2=QM×MR

10^2=8×MR

100=8×MR

100/8=MR

MR=12.5

Ans:Seg MR=12.5
