In the following figure DE parallel BC find AD if AE=1.8cm,EC=5.4cm,BD=7.2cm

Answer:

DE||BC

BD = AB -AD = 7.2-1.8=5.4cm

According to basic proportionality theorem, AD/BD = AE/EC

AE/CE =1.8/5.4=1:3

AE:EC=1:3
