Given :

²²Na₁₁ + X = ²²Ne₁₀ + Ve

To find :

X = ?

Solution :

²²Na₁₁ + ᵇXₐ = ²²Ne₁₀ + Ve

Balance the equation by balancing the mass no. and atomic no.

Atomic no. :-

11 + a = 10

a = 10 - 11

a = -1

Mass no. :-

22 + b = 22

b = 22 - 22

b = 0

So we can write X as ⁰X₋₁

We know that  ⁰X₋₁ represents electron (⁰e₋₁)

Therefore X is an electron(⁰e₋₁)

X = electron
