Answer:

Current through the 5 ohm resistor located between the 2 loops will be :

Zero Amperes

Why Zero Amperes ?

First think about current flow.

  • Within a conductor, current flows only in one direction .
  • Now, in this case , current is will never be able to flow though that 5 ohm resistance because there is only 1 conductor.

Now think in this way :

  • If current flows from right loop to the left loop through the intervening 5 ohm resistor, then through which wire , will it flow back to form a complete path ?

But the most important thing to note is that :

  • Current will not flow through that 5 ohm resistor but there will be potential Difference across the 5 ohm resistor.

Answer:

we know That in Case of parallel Connection, the p.d. Across each Resistor is same and is Equal to the Voltage applied.

therefore, applied Voltage, V = IR = 1 x 5 = 5v

so,

current through 4 Ohm resistor = v/r = 5/4 = 1.25 a

current through 10 ohm Resistor = V/r = 5/10 = 0.5 a
