since AB//CD  

therefore AE//CD

=> AECD is a parallelogram.

also angle CEB=90

=>angle ACE=90(linear pair)

Hence AECD is a rectangle

Now,

DCX and AECD lie on same base DC and between same //s AE and DC therefore

area(DCX)=1/2 area( AECD )

area of AECD= l*b=10*10=100cm^2

so

area of DCX=1/2 * 100

area of DCX= 50 cm^2
