In the given figure, an ammeter is put to measure the current through the resistor and a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the 12 ohm resistor. Note down the reading in the ammeter and the voltmeter.

The switch is open so both will be 0.

But if we close the switch:-

I=V/R = 8/25 = 0.32 A

so ammeter will show 0.32 A

Now we have to calculate the PD for 12 ohm resistor.

Since current remains same for series circuit, I=0.32 A

V=IR

so V= 0.32 x 12 = 3.84 volts

therefore voltmeter will show 3.84V
