Step-by-step explanation:

(a) \angle AOB and \angle BOC are adjacent angles as they have common vertex and share a common arm.

(b) \angle BOD and \angle BOC are not adjacent angles as \angle BOC is contained in \angle BOD.

Given :  figure

To Find :  adjacent angles?

a) ∠ AOB and ∠ BOC

b) ∠BOD and ∠ BOC

Solution:

Angles that have a common vertex and a common side (arm )  are called adjacent angles.

The angles must not overlap.

∠ AOB and ∠ BOC

Has common vertex O  and common side (arm)   OB

Hence ∠ AOB and ∠ BOC are adjacent angles

∠BOD and ∠ BOC

are overlapping angles Hence not adjacent angle

∠ AOB and ∠ BOC are adjacent angles
