In this case

Area of triangle = 1/2 x base x height

In this case

height: 7cm

Thus, area = 1/2 x 12 x 7

=> 42cm²

(iii) Area of shaded green portion​:-

It is clearly visible in this figure that

Area of shaded region + Area of triangle EDC = Area of rectangle ABCD

Thus of shaded region = Area of rectange ABCD - Area of triangle EDC

=> 84 - 42 ... [from (i) and (ii)]

=> 42cm²
