in the given figure is square has been divided into two rectangle if the sum of the perimeter of the rectangle is 54 CM then what is the perimeter of the square in centimetre
Answers
Answer:
54+54 = 108cm , if rectangles are equal..
Given : square has been divided into two rectangle
the sum of the perimeter of the rectangle is 54 CM
To Find : perimeter of the square
Solution:
Let say square side = a cm
perimeter of square = 4a cm
Square is divide into 2 rectangles
Hence one line parallel to one side of square will divide adjacent side in two sides
Let say two sides are b and c where b + c = a
so we get two rectangles
one is with sides a , b and another with sides a , c
Sum of Perimeter of rectangles = 2 (a + b) + 2(a + c)
= 2(2a + b + c )
= 2 (2a + a)
= 2 (3a)
= 6a
6a = 54
=> a= 9
=> 4a = 36 cm
perimeter of the square is 36 cm
