in the given figure L1 and L2 are the parallel and x and y are the complementary angles find the value of x and y

x and y are complementary angle
so, x +y = 90
also by figure

x+50= y-20
x-y = -70
so, x=10 and y=80

Given x and y are complimentary angles .

So : x + y = 90°......................(1)

Also l 1 ║ l 2 [ given ]

Thus :

x + 50° = y - 20° [ alternate angles ]

==> x - y = - 20° - 50°

==> x - y = -70°......................(2)

Adding (1) and (2) we get  : -

2 x = 90° - 70°

==> 2 x = 20°

==> x = 20° / 2

==> x = 10°

x + y =90° [ From (1) ]

==> 10° + y = 90°

==> y = 90° - 10°

==> y = 80°


The value of x is 10° and y is 80°
