Option (1) 441π.

Area of shaded region is 441π.

Given

To find the shaded portion for the given figure.

From the figure,

A big semi-circle has 2 semi-circles.

Big semi-circle has radius 42 cm.

2 semi-circle has diameter 42 cm, radius will be 42/2 = 21 cm.

Area of big semi-circle = πr²/2

                                      = π × 42 × 42 / 2

                                      = 882π.

Area of two small semi-circle = πr²/2

                                                 = π × 21 × 21 / 2

                                                 = 220.5π.

There are 2 small semi-circle, so it results in

Area of two small semi-circle = 220.5π + 220.5π

                                                 = 441π.

Area of shaded region = Area of big semi-circle - Area of 2 small semi-circle.

                                      = 882π - 441π

                                      = 441 π.

Therefore, area of shaded region is 441π.
