In the given figure triangle DEC is similar to triangle ABC. Area of ADEC = 25 cm² and area of ODEBA = 24 cm². If DE = 10cm, find the value of AB.

and,

         area of triangle ABC/ are of triangle DEC =DE2 / AB2

Give that area of triangle DEC=25cm2

      therefore are of triangle ABC= area of DEC + area of ADBE

                                                       = 25 +24 = 49cm2

hence,

          49/25 = 100/AB2

     AB = root196 = 14cm
